About Us

Since opening Hirsch Pediatrics in 2007, I have honed a robust, detail-focused billing system that maintains an industry leading 60 day AR over 95%.

“Revenue cycle management is not for the faint of heart. It requires attention to detail, rigorous discipline, compulsive follow-up and the embracing of technology. It also requires a commitment to training and educating staff as well as patients in the technology available to us.”

Kenneth Hertz, Principal Consultant at Medical Group Management Association

From Dr. Hirsch:

I love this quote because it captures the essence of successful medical billing. Through exquisite attention to detail, I have honed an industry leading pediatric billing system with an under 60-day account receivable of over 95% with virtually no visit write-offs and no accounts going to a collections agency. **

Simply put, my passion is to bring our decade of billing expertise and lessons learned to your pediatric practice. We want you to focus on your patients while knowing that your billing system has an A/R that exceeds industry standards and will be reliable for many years to come.

Dr. Hirsch Pediatric Billing Solutions

Dr. Steven Hirsch, MD:

I am the founder and president of both Hirsch Pediatrics, a thriving pediatric practice in Rockville, Maryland and Pediatric Billing Solutions, a unique cutting edge pediatric billing management company.

Learn More About Dr. Hirsch

I am a native of the DC area and knew since I was seven years old that I wanted to be a pediatrician. I attended Duke University, graduating magna cum laude and earned my MD with cum laude honors from Georgetown University School of Medicine. After completing my pediatrics residency at Emory University, I moved back to the DC area in 2003 with my wife and dreams of starting our family.

I began my career in a successful and innovative group pediatric practice where I honed my community practice skills for two years before opening my solo practice in 2007. For over 10 years, I have enjoyed optimizing the practice management aspects of an independent practice including doing all of my own billing and practice management tasks. Some of my other proud office accomplishments include being an NCQA Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home, serving as the lab director for my moderate complexity CLIA lab, and co-locating in-network lactation and mental health services in my office.

Outside of my office practice I enjoy being active in the pediatric community. I have been a member and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2003 and served on the board of directors for the Children’s National Health Network and Maryland AAP chapter. As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at both George Washington University School of Medicine and Georgetown University I frequently precept medical students in my office. I am also a past president and current treasurer of the Montgomery County Pediatric Society. I have recieved the Washingtonian Top Doctor award multiple times and  was recently honored to be named the “2018 Pediatrician of the Year” by the Montgomery County Pediatric Society.

Most importantly what you should know about me is that I have a passion for practice management and have created many systems and processes to improve both patient care and office efficiency. I created Pediatric Billing Solutions in 2018 to share this passion with other independent pediatric practices and to allow more pediatricians to focus on patient care while maintaining confidence that their billing and office management is in experienced, reliable and exceedingly competent hands.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to working with you and your practice.

**PRO TIP:

When evaluating your own office’s A/R reports, make sure all reports are based on date of service (when you saw the patient) and not date of claim submission (when the claim was most recently submitted). Reports based on claim submission date will artificially make your A/R look much better than what you are actually collecting. Also, it is important to review how often uncollected claims are written off since this will also artificially improve your A/R despite actually reducing your collections.
